Vocoder Heaven

I have always wanted a good vocoder but regretfully I have never found one that was useable - until now. Check out VOKKO at Klanglabs.

You can download a lite version for free and it is useable. The full version is inexpensive and adds lots of other great features. There are lots of good demos on the site and a handy flash movie on how to make it work in FL Studio (this was the clincher for me - found it invaluable for getting vocoder to work).

The full version of this software sells for $20 and I think thats a bargain considering it can play soundfont files as well.

Full version Official Blurb:
Vokko (Stereo vocoder) v1.66

FX/Synth hybrid

Vokko is a stereo vocoder, It supports stereo inputs so you can use stereo modulators and it process all signal internally in stereo so you can also use stereo carriers. Basically this plugin processes left and right signals in parallel using two imbedded "MDA Talkbox" vocoders and two separate filters.

Stereo operation is very uncommon, and very handy because you can vocode two signals with rich stereo content, for example you could vocode a voice with a stereo wide moving pad (a la wavestation)

It has inbuild soundfont players so you can use all those beautiful pad soundfonts around, also it has an analog style synthesiser if you want simple waveforms like a sawtooth/pulse as carrier to make cheese ;) with Vokko you dont have to mess around with panned external signals to feed the vocoder, just load it, feed audio, MIDI and you're done.

Two filters in parallel (A and B) allows you to apply a LP/HP/BP/BR filter mode, you can control the timbres and/or panning separately for each vocoder. It also features pitch tracking and extensive LFO.

Specs:

Stereo SF2 Player with gain control.
2 Oscillator based synth, attack/release envelope, an additional "Breath" oscillator with white/pink noise.
Two multimode filters in parallel mode with panning controls.
Audio input LED and gain control.
DAR Env controlled LFO to control Osc1, Osc2, Breath, Filter Cutoff, useful to add vibrato.
New samplers allows user to load wav files, you can vocode them or use them as carriers for incoming signal.
Pitch tracking function, follows the incoming signal pitch to control the Synth.
Osc 1 is now stereo.
Now you can load custom soundfonts in the synth Osc1.
Complete patch bank
Complete MIDI Automation map.
Link buttons for all parameters on the filter section.
BigPadsDemo and Carriers soundfonts included.
